CUI: A rational monitoring setup

If, during monitoring over time, deviations are recorded, and the necessity and urgency of follow-up actions are not clear, the deployment of monitoring has ultimately had insufficient impact. This leads to a false sense of security with potentially severe consequences.

Where risk is present, a rationalized approach provides a solution. This proven approach in practice has also been re-applied for the management of corrosion under insulation.

The knowledge product assesses whether necessary steps crucial for monitoring have been demonstrably completed. Identified 'loose ends' are identified to be gradually addressed, ensuring that the monitoring approach is comprehensive.

In the monitoring of a risk, there is a pre-existing need to gain insight into the expected effectiveness of the intended monitoring approach. The best practice for condition monitoring outlines the conditions for the successful implementation of a monitoring concept.
